Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy is provided by Tallnut Studio ("we", "us", or "our") for the Minimal Cleaner mobile application (the "App"). It explains how the App handles information when you use Minimal Cleaner, an iOS storage-cleaning and privacy utility that helps you review similar, duplicate, blurry, screenshot, and text-heavy photos; review similar videos; compress videos; manage contacts and contact backups; clean older calendar events; view device storage; and protect selected photos, videos, and contacts in Private Space.
By downloading, installing, or using Minimal Cleaner, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the App.
2. Core Privacy Principle: Local Processing First
Minimal Cleaner is built around a simple rule: your personal content should not need to leave your device for the App to work. What this means in practice:
- Photo and video analysis runs locally with Apple frameworks such as Photos, Vision, Accelerate, AVFoundation, and related system APIs.
- Video compression runs locally and saves the compressed result back to your Photo Library.
- Contact backups are local vCard files stored in the App sandbox.
- Private Space content is encrypted on your device and protected with your passcode and, if enabled, Face ID / Touch ID.
- We do not upload your photos, videos, contacts, calendar events, or Private Space content to our servers.
3. Information We Access or Process
Minimal Cleaner requests only the permissions needed for features you choose to use. The table below describes what the App may access, why, and whether that data is made available to us.

| Diagnostics & Analytics | Crash logs, performance metrics, and app-usage events are collected through Firebase to fix bugs and improve the App. Usage events cover onboarding steps, permission outcomes, scans, category views, cleanup, video compression, Private Space setup and imports, contact merge/delete/backup/restore, calendar event deletion, and paywall and purchase activity, together with aggregate counts such as items processed and bytes saved. 3.1 Photos, Videos, and iCloud Photos
When you grant Photo Library access, Minimal Cleaner reads authorized media items to generate local thumbnails, feature comparisons, blur scores, text-region signals, video keyframes, file-size estimates, and cleanup suggestions. These derived signals are used only inside the App. They are not uploaded to us and are not used to train any model.
If an item is stored in iCloud Photos and not currently on the device, iOS may download it from Apple so Minimal Cleaner can process it locally. We do not receive that item. If you grant limited Photo Library access, Minimal Cleaner works only with the items you selected.
3.2 Contacts and Calendar
Minimal Cleaner reads contacts and calendar events only after permission is granted. Contact operations, contact backups, contact imports into Private Space, and calendar deletion operations happen on-device through Apple system frameworks. For calendars, Minimal Cleaner focuses on older events from local and CalDAV/iCloud-style calendars and avoids read-only sources such as birthdays or subscribed calendars where applicable.
3.3 Purchases and Subscriptions
Minimal Cleaner offers auto-renewing subscriptions and a one-time Lifetime unlock through Apple App Store and StoreKit, including promoted in-app purchases started from the App Store product page. Apple processes payments, refunds, tax, billing, and payment credentials. We do not receive your payment card details. The App stores only local entitlement and paywall display state, such as whether Pro is unlocked, the active product ID, and limited frequency-control timestamps for subscription offers, and uses StoreKit to refresh and verify entitlement.
3.4 Support Communications
Minimal Cleaner does not require you to create an account. If you voluntarily contact us by email, we may process your email address, message text, attachments, and any diagnostic details you choose to include. We use this information only to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, protect our rights, or comply with legal obligations.
4. Information We Do Not Collect or Use
Minimal Cleaner does not:
- Upload your photos, videos, contacts, calendar events, or Private Space content to us.
- Require account registration or login.
- Use advertising SDKs, attribution SDKs, data brokers, or IDFA-based tracking.
- Sell or share your personal data for advertising or cross-app tracking.
- Collect location data.
- Use your personal content to train AI or machine-learning models.
- Send your photos, videos, contacts, calendar events, or Private Space content to our own or any third-party server.
Apple may provide App Store Connect information such as sales, subscription, crash, or diagnostic reports under Apple's own terms and privacy practices. Separately, Minimal Cleaner integrates Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring) to understand crashes, app performance, feature usage, and subscription conversion. These services receive only diagnostic and aggregated usage data and never your photos, videos, contacts, calendar events, or Private Space content. See Section 7 for details.
5. Permissions and How to Manage Them
You can grant, limit, or revoke permissions at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security or iOS Settings > Minimal Cleaner. Revoking a permission may disable the related feature, but it does not automatically delete local data already created by the App.

6. Private Space, Encryption, and Temporary Files
Private Space stores selected media and contacts in the App sandbox on your device. Private Space media, thumbnails, metadata, and private contacts are encrypted before they are written to disk. The content encryption key and PIN record are stored in the iOS Keychain using device-only accessibility settings.
Important: If you forget your Private Space passcode and biometric unlock is unavailable, we cannot recover or reset the passcode for you. Because we do not hold your content or encryption key, protected content may become permanently inaccessible.
For playback or sharing, Minimal Cleaner may temporarily decrypt a private item into the system temporary directory so iOS can display or share it. These temporary files are protected with iOS file protection and are cleaned up when the App locks, backgrounds, or finishes the relevant operation where applicable. If you share or export content to another app or person, their handling of that content is outside Minimal Cleaner's control.
7. Third-Party Services and SDKs
Minimal Cleaner currently relies on the following external components or platform services:

Apart from Firebase described above, Minimal Cleaner does not integrate Amplitude, AppsFlyer, Adjust, RevenueCat, Adapty, Sentry, AppLovin, Meta SDK, or any advertising, attribution, or cross-app tracking SDKs. We do not use IDFA or any advertising identifier.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Because your personal content is stored locally, retention is primarily controlled by you:
- Private Space items remain on your device until you delete them in the App or delete the App and its local data.
- Contact backups remain in the App sandbox until you delete them or delete the App.
- Compressed videos are saved to your Photo Library; temporary compression files are removed after the operation completes or fails.
- Items you delete from Photos, Contacts, or Calendar through Minimal Cleaner follow iOS behavior. For example, photos may move to Recently Deleted before permanent deletion.
- Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to handle your request, maintain records, resolve disputes, or comply with law.
9. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, or similar laws. Because Minimal Cleaner does not maintain a server-side account or personal-content database for you, most access, correction, deletion, and portability choices are available directly on your device.
You can manage App permissions in iOS Settings, delete local App data in the App, delete the App to remove its sandboxed local data, and contact us if you have a support email or legal privacy request. We do not sell or share personal data as those terms are commonly used in U.S. state privacy laws.
10. Children's Privacy
Minimal Cleaner is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us through a support email, please contact us so we can address it.
11. International Users
Minimal Cleaner processes personal content locally on your device wherever you use the App. We do not transfer your photos, videos, contacts, calendar events, or Private Space content across borders. Limited diagnostic and analytics data is processed by Firebase (Google) and may be handled on servers outside your country under Google's privacy policy. Support emails may be processed through standard email infrastructure, and purchases are processed by Apple according to Apple's terms and privacy policy.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide notice in the App. Your continued use of Minimal Cleaner after an update means you accept the revised policy.
